EzSEO Newsletter # 225
This week:
1. New Wordpress Tool
2. Six Minute rankings in Google
3. Wordpress Tutorial - XIX
Hi again
There hasn’t been a newsletter for a couple of weeks as I have just been too busy. My wife is 8 months pregnant, so my "newsletter time" has been taken up looking after her, and doing a lot more stuff around the house. In fact, I got up at 6am this morning just so I wouldn’t miss a third week!
I have also been working hard on my Christmas sites. It’s that time of year again, and things really start going crazy online at this time.
Today is quite a short newsletter as I have one of those horrible bugs that is going around (so please excuse typos in this newsletter as I doubt I’ll proof read it today).

1. New Wordpress Tool

I’m not sure when this tool came out, but I found out about it this week. Type in a niche specific phrase, and let Wordtracker find all of the "question phrases".

What are questions words? Well, if you have been a subscriber to this newsletter for any time (or have bought a Niche Blueprint from me in the last couple of years), you should already know, as I have used that term quite a bit. Certainly my students are aware of the term as we use them to find good ideas for writing quality content. They are the related questions that people type into the search engines to find information about a product.
Doing a site on "weight loss"? Type that in and see what problems people want solved. The tool will return up to 100 of these question phrases, ordered by demand. The more important ones are at the top.

A few months ago I started my own mentoring program. The idea was to build a site from scratch, and show every step I took to get it up and running and making some m0ney.
As the course is meant to be followed in as little as two hours a week, I have been restricted in how much I could teach in each of the weekly modules (and I too have been limited to 2 hours a week work on the site). However, during the last week, my test site made its first affiliate sale, and traffic is building nicely.
Add to that the Adsense income that the site is now making on a daily basis, and I’m very happy with the progress so far.
The site has been built on the principles I teach in this newsletter, the only real difference being that I have used Wordpress as the site building tool. Wordpress has many advantages, but can look a little "bloggy" which puts a lot of people off. For that reason, the early stages of the course look at making modifications to Wordpress templates so that the site stops looking like a blog, and looks more like a traditional site.
I am at the stage now where adding new content to the blog means that content gets indexed and traffic within minutes (and that’s without any external links or social Bookmarking). In fact, I recorded a video showing a test page I created, to see how long it would take. How about 6 - 8 minutes from publishing the content, to getting into Google?
Using the principles of "themeing", my pages are now being found for lots of different phrases (in a 2 week period, one page was so far been found for a total of 43 DIFFERENT phrases), and a lot of these themed pages are grabbing top 10 positions for a number of different phrases.
My tried and tested techniques are not short-term strategies. The sites I create are for life, and as such, it takes time to build the foundations. However, once built, they take minimum maintenance, and continue to do well no matter what changes the search engines make.
If you want to see the video of the 6/8 minute ranking, and read more about this course, you can do so here:

Last time we looked at template hierarchy in Wordpress, and how to know which templates to edit for a desired effect.
This week, I want to start a series of Wordpress tutorials dealing with editing of CSS. CSS stands for cascading style sheets, and is the control centre behind the formatting and layout of your Wordpress site. We’ll start off with something simple - changing the size of the H1 header tags.
You can view all tutorials in the Wordpress Tutorials section of the Affiliate Minder website.
Well, that’s it for this issue. If you want to read the recent issues of this newsletter, you can read them online at my blog:
