3. Fed up with Acrobat Reader??
4. Which Site Builder do you use?
5. Other News
Hi again
In this week’s issue I’ll tell you why the recent release of XSite Pro v2 has convinced me to switch site builder - and no, it’s NOT a switch to XSite Pro.
I have a couple of polls set up so you can give me some feedback, plus a heads up about a great fr.ee PDF reader and a video showing how I use a fr.ee keyword research tool.
Let’s get on..

1. Google’s Keyword Tool
– — – — – — – — – — – — – — – — –
It’s always great to be able to recommend quality fr.ee products and services, and Google’s Keyword tool is one of those that I use on a weekly basis. It is not a tool I would use for comprehensive keyword research, but it does have some great uses.
You can find the keyword tool here.
Here is what I use the tool for:
1. Finding hot niches.
2. Checking Adwords CPC values.
3. Finding out what Google think of my pages.
4. Finding long tail phrases.
5. Ideas for content.
I have recorded a short video showing you how I use this tool. Watch it here.
Also, before we leave this topic, Dave Tropeano emailed me this week on this exact topic. Here is what he said:
“Wanted to let you know I wrote a quick report on using the Google Keyword Tool to get insight from Google on what it thinks your page(s) are about. For some reason, my people don’t think to use this part of the tool on their own stuff or their competitors.
Here’s a download link –>

It’s worth a read.

2. Wordtracker competition automation

Many months ago, I told you about a great tool for all Wordtracker users. It automatically did all of the competition analysis for you, meaning you didn’t have to do it manually 100 at a time.
The tool recently stopped working, and a lot of people who bought after I mentioned it, contacted me. Well the good news is the author has now fixed this, so please contact him for an update. You can find contact info at the bottom of his sales page:

3. Fed up with Acrobat Reader??

I hate programs that take over my computer, and I lump Adobe Acrobat into that category. I find the program bloated and slow, and have had occasional problems updating it. I dumped it a few months ago!
If you want to dump it too, in favour of quick PDF reader, I can highly recommend Foxit Reader. Best of all, it’s fr.ee!!

4. Which Site Builder do you use?

If you have a couple of seconds, please go to this poll and vote:
The reason I am interested in this information is that XSite Pro v2 has just been released, and with this release comes a big price rise (up to $297). I bought XSite Pro last year but never used it. Why? Simply because I own Dreamweaver and know how to use it. I didn’t want to invest a lot of my time in learning another tool that would basically do the same thing.
NOTE: If you own XSite Pro and know how to use it, then that’s great. Continue using it - it is a great tool!!
I was eligible for a fr.ee upgrade to XSite Pro v2 and downloaded it. After looking at all of the amazing things it can do, I am even more convinced I don’t need it. Don’t get me wrong, XSite Pro is fantastic, but at the end of the day, its not the tool that is important, its the content on your site that is important, and how that content is strung together. For a beginner, $297 is a big chunk of change to find!
As I got thinking about website builders, I realised that there is a fr.ee tool that can do the job. The big problem (as with any new tool) is the learning curve needed to get a site up and running with this tool.
What’s the tool?
Wordpress!!
“But Wordpress is a blogging tool….”, I hear you say.
Wordpress IS primarily a blogging tool, but what a lot of people don’t know is that you can also create sites that look like traditional websites. That means a site with main pages and product pages and/or articles, organised into folders etc etc.
Wordpress is a fantastic tool for updating your sites. You don’t have to worry about FTPing updated pages, or even updating menus. Wordpress has a great little WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, meaning all you have to worry about is creating quality content.
OK, why am I telling you this?
Well, I was wondering how many other people have been looking for an easier way of creating websites. How many people want a solution that allows you to concentrate 100% on content, without having to worry about linking pages together, or the look and feel of the site etc. How many want a viable alternative that’s fr.ee and even makes adding new content FUN?
If there is an interest in this, I’ll consider writing a mini-series in this newsletter showing you exactly how to create a website using Wordpress. I am not talking about creating a blog…. I am talking about an affiliate site that looks nothing like a blog…. your visitors won’t have a clue that the site was a “Wordpress blog”.
I created another poll to get your feedback on this:

I have been working on a few final updates to KRA Pro before its release. One of the main features of KRA Pro (over and above the standard version of KRA) is the themeing features.
The most recent additions I am currently working on are related to language and country preferences when using Google to identify theme words. One of the problems so far has been that if you live in Spain (like I do), Google defaults to Google That’s great when I am researching content for a Spanish page, but not so good when researching for an English page. The latest updates will hopefully address this.
Because of these updates, it now looks likely that KRA Pro will be released around the middle of June, although existing KRA owners will have the option of “upgrading” before then.
Well, that’s it for this issue. If you want to read the recent issues of this newsletter, you can read them online at my blog:
