Hi again.
I’ve got some valuable f.re.e. gifts for you today, but one in particular is a first come, first served basis, so be quick or you’ll miss out on it.
—————————————————
1. Money is in the list? I don’t think so.
—————————————————
I got an email this morning as I was getting ready to write the newsletter. Here is part of that email:
“Internet Marketers are told that “the money’s in the list”, and that’s certainly true for those working in that niche, and possibly other info-product niches as well (such as if someone markets Clickbank products as an affiliate, for example).
We know that you have your list for EZ SEO News and your own products, but for your affiliate sites selling physical products, do you build mailing lists? Using your common example, if you were to build a Barbeque site, have you generally found it worth your time to build a mailing list for that site (perhaps by offering a free report, etc)?
Obviously it takes extra time to build & communicate with a list, so I’m curious if the time spent is worth it in your view, or if that time is better spent adding new sites & new content to existing sites. Jeff”
Its a great question.
Now, I don’t agree when other say “money is in the list”. For me, money is in the relationship with the list.
You can buy a list of 20,000 if you have the money, but it wont guarantee you make money from it. In fact, it is more likely to cause you problems, with spam reports every time you email them.
Now, don’t get me wrong. There is money to be made from lists, but for that to happen, you must have a relationship with that list.
It is the relationship that will make you the money, not the fact you can shoot out an email whenever you like. By offering your subscribers valuable information, unbiased reviews, and advice if they ask, you can build a relationship. When they grow to trust and value your opinion, then they are more likely to buy when you recommend something.
So, where does that leave your smaller niche sites? Well, my advice would be to setup an autoresponder course on the site. Perhaps give-away a fr.ee report to encourage them to sign up for the autoresponder.
In both the autoresponder and the report, you can then get your affiliate links in front of your readers (with a great bit of pre-sell). Besides sending then to your affiliate merchants, you can also send your readers to your own site, to specific articles or reviews, which further exposes them to your affiliate links, and/or adsense.
This type of autoresponder/report setup is a one-time commitment. You set it up, and forget it.
If in the future you find your merchant has special offers on a particular product that you think the list will be interested in, you still have all of those email addresses in the autoresponder database, so you can still mail them the promotion. Using a company like Aweber allows me to do all this from within one control panel, and one account.
So, while I don’t suggest you just setup a newsletter style list, I do suggest you setup a list with an autoresponder/report, that then gives you the option of sending out a “newsletter” at a later date.
Now, while I am on this topic, I have a fr.ee product for you. You may already have seen these, as they came out earlier this week, but if not, they are well worth watching. Michael Rasmussen has released a video course on email marketing. The videos show you how to create emails that will help you convert your subscribers into buyers. It is useful to watch these before crafting your autoresponders.
I wont go into details of the course here, so if you are interested, go here.

2. Michael Campbell eBook giveaway.
—————————————————
When I read Michael Campbell’s newsletter the other day, I nearly choked on my Corn Flakes! He is giving away two of his eBooks.
I actually paid for both of these eBooks, and they quickly became favourite reference books on my shelf. If you already subscribe to Michael’s newsletter, you will have received these already. If not, I suggest you go over to Michael’s site and get both “Clickin’ it Rich” and “Revenge of the Mininet”.

3. My new look blog. Want a fr.ee new look for yours?
—————————————————
If you go over to my blog, you will probably notice it looks a little different:
That’s right, it now looks like my main site.
This is something I had been putting off through lack of time, but then my good friend Guido Stiehle emailed me, and offered to do it for fr.ee. Thanks Guido, and great job.
Now, the reason I am telling you this is that Guido has kindly offered to do the same for you. If you have a website and a corresponding Wordpress blog, and have not yet skinned your blog to look like your site, Guido may be able to help, and it wont c0st you anything. For a limited time, Guido is prepared to do it for f.re.e. All he asks in return is that he can link back to his “Easy Web Tutorials” site from your blog (you’ll see the link at the bottom of my blog). Now, before you get too excited, there is a strictly first come, first served policy. Guido has limited time (he is a dentist by day), so will only be offering this for the first 30 people.
For more details, see his Easy Web Tutorial Site.

4. Brad & Andy withdrawals.
—————————————————
Well for weeks now, Brad and Andy have been bombarding our inboxes with videos, and PDF downloads. Their release of Stompernet was huge. In the aftermath, things have gone quiet. A lot of people were upset because they could not afford the high price.
Now, I cannot tell you what is in the Stompernet package, as I didn’t buy it. However, I can tell you that Brad and Andy released an SEO course some time ago, that shows you many of the techniques that they no doubt teach in their Stompernet.
The course was huge when it was released, and I still regularly return to it to review some of their techniques. The fact that the course comes with CDs makes it easier to listen to it as I go about my daily business.
The bad news is that it is still quite pricey. The good news is that it is still a great SEO course by two of the best SEO experts I know.
You can read more about “Stomping the Search Engines” here.
Or, you can read the review I wrote when I first received their course.

5. Building your own product empire.

“Do you use PLR materials to build your sites?”
That is a question I get asked on a weekly basis, and on a weekly basis, my reply is the same. Yes.
However, I cannot leave it at that, because that “yes” is misleading.
There are two types of PLR materials that I use - articles and eBooks. Let me first tell you about the articles.
One thing I do not do is use the PLR material on my site as content/articles. Nope. Never. I don’t even attempt to re-write them. However, I do use them.
Use #1 - Collect 10 or more PLR articles on a particular topic, and compile them into an eBook/report. Using something like OpenOffice (fr.ee MS Office replacement), anyone can create PDF files (it has this as a built in feature), and these are the ideal format for your reports (since they are platform independent, and can be read on PCs and Macs).
As you compile the reports, you can insert more information if you wish, plus affiliate links and other stuff that will make you sales, or bring traffic to your site. Offer these reports as a fr.ee download, or charge for them. That is your choice.
Use #2 - Collect 5 or more PLR articles on a particular topic, and set them up in an autoresponder sequence. Then, when someone comes to your site, they can sign up for the autoresponder, and they will then automatically be sent your “course” at your predetermined interval (one a day, or once a week etc.). In these autoresponder articles, you can pre-sell a product, whether that is your own, or a product you sell as an affiliate. The other great thing to do within these “courses”, is refer to articles on your site, which you set up as Adsense earners. Then, as people sign up for your course, they are sent to money-generating pages on your site, and exposed to pre-sell and affiliate links for products you promote.
OK, that is how I use PLR articles. What about PLR eBooks? Well, I simply turn these into reports. I do edit these, but not to change the material. I edit them to insert more information.
#1 - I’ll create reviews of relevant products, and add these to the report.
#2 - I’ll insert links to my web pages within the report, so that the reader will go to my site, and possibly click on my Adsense ads, or visit the merchants I promote.
#3 - I’ll insert a FAQ section (again, with links that point to articles on my site. Yes, you guessed it, those articles are setup for Adsense or affiliate pre-sell).~
#4 - I’ll include a sign up form for my autoresponder course within the eBook, just in case they missed it while on my site. If they had to sign up to the autoresponder to get the report, I’ll setup a second autoresponder (maybe a product review autoresponder, where I’ll review 10 products over the next 10 days).
#5 - I’ll include a questionnaire at the end of the report, to ask readers what they are looking for, If you can get readers to tell you what they want, you can build pages to provide it for them.
I’ll then compile it all together, and offer it as a fr.ee download (sometimes as a bonus for signing up for my autoresponder).
This type of setup can create a huge web for your site, sucking visitors in and keeping them exposed to your m0ney-generating pages/links. Try it.
Now, you may be thinking about the best sources for PLR material. Well, I have two favourites that I have been a member of since they first opened. Nicheology was the first one, but their doors are closed and not taking in new members. The other ones I like are Kim Standerline’s sites. I am a scientist by training, so her health products are perfect for me. She runs two sites - one for eBooks, and one for articles. Both sites usually compliment each other with the niche articles from her article site, mirroring the eBook topics on the other site.
Now, for those on a budget who want to get started with PLR stuff, I would recommend you sign up for Kim’s eBook membership site. With this membership, not only do you get an eBook, but you also get a bunch of articles as well. I just checked this month, and there are 25 articles to go with the eBook. What more could you need to get started with PLR material? Well, a website would be nice, wouldn’t it? Well, Kim even gives you an Adsense site on the niche. This is not my favourite part of her membership site, as I believe there are no short-cuts to creating a site that will earn good m0ney. I would recommend you build your own quality site, and if you are interested in doing that, read the next section, since the topic discussed there is the same as this months topic on Kim’s site.

6. October Niche Blueprint Released.
—————————————————
I released the October Niche Blueprint yesterday. For those who are new to my newsletter, my Niche Blueprints are carefully researched niches, where I give you a manual that shows you a step by step plan to building your site, plus much more. You get my keyword research for the niche, and I even split the keywords into groups, to help you identify the best phrases for homepage, main pages and articles. There is even a report that will help you theme your pages.
What these Niche Blueprints don’t provide is content. For this month though, the topic of this health related niche blueprint is the same as the topic Kim chose for her membership sites. That means that if you sign up for Kim’s site, and buy the niche blueprint, you get your very own professionally written eBook, plus 25 articles to get you started (you get a lot more from Kim’s site too).
Let me just finish by giving you a few of the stats on this niche blueprint. Surprisingly, even though the niche has huge demand, there is relatively little competition on many of the phases. Let me show you:
The niche blueprint identifies 2669 phrases.
2307 phrases have less than 1000 competing pages with 490 of them having 5 or more daily searches at Google alone (4700+ daily searches on these 490 phrases).
353 phrases have 5 or more daily searches and less than 100 competing pages (2949 daily searches at Google for these 353 phrases).
234 phrases have 5 or more daily searches with 10 or less competing pages (1913 daily searches at Google for these 234 phrases).
92 phrases have 5 or more daily searches an ZERO competing pages in Google (685 daily searches at Google for these 92 phrases).
