This week:

1. $20,000 in 20 days Chance of a lifetime

2. Experiment - Themed Content

3. The best position for Adsense on your page?

4. Do you need a mentor?

5. How to sell a product online - Part VIII

Hi again.

I hope you’ve had a good week.

This is one newsletter not to be missed as I’ll mention a fantastic, no risk opportunity that may not come along again. Also, I’ve got an interesting little case study about themed content, plus lots more.

Let’s get on.

—- —– —– —– —– —– —– —– —– —- —
1. $20,000 in 20 days Chance of a lifetime
—- —– —– —– —– —– —– —– —– —- —

If I could guarantee that you could make $20,000 in 20 days, would you be interested? That’s the exact same question Michael Green asked me at the beginning of September. Now normally I’d just delete this type of email, but this one came from Michael Green! He told me that if I bought his course and followed it, and I DIDN’T make $20,000 or more in 20 days, he would refund my m0ney.

For those of you who don’t know Michael, or have never heard of him, he is one of the true online gurus. He has spent years building up his hugely successful and influential www.howtocorp.com forum.

Have a look at this page. You’ll get an idea of Michael’s credentials in the marketing world:

Guru Daq

OK, back to this challenge.

Basically, Michael is selling one of his secret techniques that consistently allows him to make $20k or more in 20 days. Its a technique that can be reused, to keep making that type of money, and his testing has shown it to be consistent.

Well, I bought the course on 3rd September at the pre-release price, so I could review it. Unfortunately, the course was only released to customers last night, so I have only just downloaded it. I have looked through the materials though, and I have to tell you that this system can work, if you apply it. Sure, it will take some work, but the rewards are worth it aren’t they? Imagine having a system that consistently allows you to make a good 5 figure income EVERY MONTH. What would you do with $20 a month?

I am going to start the course next week (in fact I may get a friend or even my wife to follow it, as I am busy on other things right now), so I will be able to give you feedback via this newsletter. However, the big problem is, I don’t know how long Michael is going to be selling this course. There is a big possibility that by the time I have reviewed it, he will have pulled it from sale. With so many copies sold over night, he may be reaching a cap.

Let me give you a couple of details that may help make your mind up.

1. If you do not make $20k in 20 days, you can get a refund - that’s his guarantee (this guy must be really confident).

2. You do not need to buy software, eBooks or anything else (other than web hosting). Everything you need is included in the course.

3. You are buying a proven system that you can use, and reuse, to consistently make a fantastic living, month after month.

4. After skimming over the details of this course, and how it works, I fully endorse it. This really does look like the real deal.

Now, before you head off, let me warn you. This course is not cheap. There are a couple of reasons for that.

Firstly, and most obviously, its because this technique (fully white hat so the search engines will have no problems with it) is worth a lot. If fact, it is works, it is probably worth 100s of times what Michael is currently charging for it. Secondly, Michael only wants to attract customers who are prepared to put the information to work. He is desperate for you to succeed, so much so that he is going to give you your money back if you don’t.

This is a chance that may not be available tomorrow. If you are prepared to work at it, then join now before Michael pulls the product.

2. Experiment - Themed Content
—————————————————

As you may be aware, I had the pre-release of my fat content course a week or so ago. The pre-release is over, and I am preparing now for the full release in the next couple of weeks. It is currently NOT AVAILABLE, sorry.

The course is all about writing content. Not just any content, but quality, themed content.

I wanted to give my customers some data on a real site to encourage them to apply the knowledge in the course, so I did a small experiment. I thought I would share the results with the newsletter as well.

Here are the details of a test I did this week.

On Monday this week, I created an article using the techniques taught in my Fat Content Course. The article was high quality and well themed. It was 100% unique, and around 800 words.

On Monday evening, I posted the article on my site. The site is only a couple of months old, and has no PR yet.

I then did a little trick (that you can read about in section 18.1 of my course if you own it), which got my page indexed in Google inside 24 hours.

I monitored traffic to that page, and here is what I found.

In the following 48 hours, the page was found for 17 different search phrases at Google.

Here is where the search phrases currently rank in Google:

1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 4, 5, 7, 14, 14, 16, 17, 31, 55, 56, 75

The phrase that ranks at 55 is a 2 word phrase with 2.3 million competing pages. It’s one of the main phrases for this section of my site.

Getting these rankings is a great testimonial to the themeing techniques I have taught in this newsletter. If I can get these rankings without having to look for incoming links to the page, imagine what I can do when I start some of the off site marketing stuff.

Just in case you think this result is a fluke, I have a slightly older site (PR 2) 13 page website built with quality, themed content. In the last few weeks, those 13 pages have been found for 1555 different search phrases.

3. The best position for Adsense on your page?
—————————————————

There has been a lot written about the best place to put the Adsense on your pages, but there is something here that needs to be considered, and I have never seen it mentioned.

My own testing suggests that there is NO universally “best position” for your Adsense across all pages. Each page is different, and you need to test and track your results to find out where Adsense works best on EACH page.

I really just want to give you a few things to think about, and you can make up your own mind:

If you have a great quality article that is informative and interesting to a reader, will they click an Adsense ad which will take them away from the article before they have finished reading it? Would it not be better to have Adsense at the end of the article, so that they can finish reading it, and then be offered Adsense ads? If they enjoyed your article, maybe they’ll see those ads as endorsements from you, and be more likely to click?

Let’s look at it a different way.

If you have spammy drivel as content, and your Adsense ads are at the bottom of the page, will your visitors every see them. Chances are they’ll hit the back button as soon as they read the first paragraph. Surely in this case it is better to have Adsense at the very top of your page.

Why not try and move your Adsense around the page, and even change the format and look of your ads. Track the clickthroughs for your different layouts. You’ll be surprised how small changes can cause large increases (or decreases) in click through.

—————————————————
4. Do you need a mentor?
—————————————————

This is just an idea I am mulling over. I am planning a complete training course for affiliate marketing. I just wanted to gauge feedback to see whether anyone would be interested. I can promise that the course will be very affordable, and very comprehensive.

I have created a poll to get some instant feedback. There is only a yes or no answer, and I realise it depends on price etc, but in principle, are you interested?

Vote here.

5. How to sell a product online - Part VIII
—————————————————

Last week, I gave you this mind map:

http://ezseonews.com/mindmap/ms1/psp1.pdf

It’s basically a jumbled up list of thoughts and ideas I had as I brainstormed the processes of writing a sales page.

To help organise these thoughts, I’ve dragged the mind map around a bit to re-organise it. Here is the new modified mind map:

Crafting a Sales Page

If you have the mind map viewer (see the start of this mini-series for details), here is the raw mind map:

http://ezseonews.com/mindmap/ms1/psp-2.mmap

We now have a few distinct, related areas that we can look in the next few weeks.

Today, I want to start by looking at the Unique Selling Proposition (USP). Having a USP is essential. This is the foundation of any good sales page, but what is a USP?

Simply put, your USP is what makes your product better than your competitors.

e.g. If you sold green widgets, why would people want to buy the green widgets from you, rather than your competitor? What do you offer that your competitor does not?

Imagine you created a website editor. What makes your Website Editor better than the others on the market. What does it offer that others don’t?

You’ve probably all seen the pizza ads on TV where they say you can get the pizza for free if it takes longer than 30 minutes to arrive. I haven’t seen the ads myself, but I do remember watching a sitcom (I cannot remember which one, maybe Friends?) where the pizza arrived a few seconds before the deadline, so the people waiting for the pizza turned off the lights, and hid in an attempt to get the pizza for free. 30 minutes or a free pizza is a USP.

What about the offer in section one of this newsletter? Make $20k in 20 days or your money back. That is a USP. That one guarantee sets this offer apart from competing products.

A USP should offer something that no other company offers.

Having a great USp will set your product apart from the competitors, making it look more valuable.

A USP should give a visitor a compelling reason to buy the product.

Defining your own USP is essential before you start writing the sales copy. You need to know why your product is better than the others on the market, or how can you possibly start writing a sales letter?

The best way I have found to define a USP is to make a list of all features your product offers, and then highlighting the features that are not found in any competing product.

From there, defining your USP should be easy, and with USP in hand, you can begin to plan out your sales page.

An example closer to home. When I was defining the USP for my SEO Website Builder software in preparation for writing my sales page, here are the types of things I wrote down:

1. No HTML knowledge required.
2. No SEO Skills Required.
3. Runs on your own PC.
4. You can create as many sites as you want with the software - you own it.
5. You host the sites on your own server.

At the time I released SEO Website Builder, the first two points were also covered by the excellent Site Build it! I needed to find additional reasons why mine was a better option. The way I came up with the last three points was to think about the things I did not like about Site Build It, and add them as benefits to my own software.

These five points made my software unique (at least at the time it was released). These were my Unique Selling Propositions.

A successful USP will fill a gap in the market, and once defined, it will influence the way you write your sale letter. In fact, some of the points listed above were used in my original headline for the product sales letter.

Well, that’s it for this issue. If you want to read the recent issues of this newsletter, you can read them online at my blog:
