This week:

1. Checking Seasonality for your niche.

2. Does the Quality of your Content really matter?

3. My “fool-proof” method of creating quality content.

4. Brad & Andy videos

Hi again.

I received a flood of emails this week about something I said in last weeks newsletter. I’ll tell you a little more about this today, plus, just what are Brad & Andy about to unleash? Watch the video and get the fre.e. report about their zero to $16,000 A DAY in 3 months websites.

1. Checking Seasonality for your niche
—————————————————

Tiit Raag has been a long-time subscriber of this newsletter, and contacts me from time to time with some gems of information. This week he suggested I look at another feature of the Google Keyword Tool, so I did. Thanks Tiit for the heads-up. Now let’s see what the feature does.

Have you ever wanted to check it your niche is seasonal, and even the months when your site are likely to be doing good business?

Go to the Google Keyword Tool.

Enter “BBQ” (or whatever your chosen niche happens to be) into the Keyword Box. From the “Data to Display” drop-down box, select “Global Search Volume trends”. Click the Get More Keywords button.

With the BBQ niche, you’ll see that most keywords have their highest search volume in May, June and July. That’s interesting to know. Since Wordtracker keep three months of data, you should research your BBQ niche towards the end of July to capture the data from the peak of the BBQ season.

That’s important to know in any seasonal niche. OK; you have to research and build your site after that season is over, but it gives you 9 months to get your site finished, and ranking well. Since quality sites take lots of quality content to get up and running, you’ll have plenty of time ;o)

2. Does the Quality of your Content really matter?
—————————————————

It seems that more and more people are releasing products that speed up content development, or even write the content for you. With so many people buying into these “get content quick” schemes, do they really work?

Well, you all know my opinion. Poor content will create poor sites, give your readers a bad impression about you, and not help your business in the long-term. Besides this, poor content does not generally have the earning capacity of quality content. What do I mean by this?

Well, a 300 page site with poor content can make far less income that a 20 pages site built with quality content.

So why do people create 300 page sites when you would imagine it would take a lot less time to create a 20 page quality site?

The answer is very simple. The 300 pages sites are often built with fre.ely available content from article directories or PLR membership sites. That means that by using a site generator, a 300 page site can be created in less than an hour.

Compare that to a 20 page quality site, where the content alone could take you 20 hours to write.

For those the “get rich quick” mentality, the “get content quick” route is the easiest. So what if the site only makes $1 a day? If it only takes an hour to build, I can build 5 sites a day, for the next 6 months, and end up with 900 sites making me $900 a day.

Well, that might be one route to take, but the search engines are weeding out the poor quality sites, so you might start making $1 a day on a site, but over those 6 months, the sites may drop of to near zero income.

Using poor quality content is like running on treadmill that gets faster and faster over time. You just cant keep up, and end up falling off the end.

Because of this newsletter, I am in a fortunate position. I get emails from people all the time who ask me why their sites are not ranking well, or not making any m0ney. I also get told great success stories form those who build strong foundations and create quality that will be around for years to come. Because of my position, I can see what works for others, and what doesn’t.

Here is an email I received this week. I have removed some of the details for privacy reasons.

/////// Start of email ////////

“Hi Andy,

Thanks for another great newsletter. Your newsletters are hands down the best I receive and I get a lot of them. They’re always a great way to get ideas and inspiration for the week ahead.

I was very interested in your experiment with auto-generated sites. I purchased XXXXXXXXXXXXX a few months ago and built one site:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.com

I think this will be the last site I build with it. It’s nice S/W, but I found that I needed to do too much tweaking by hand to clean things up – I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I think I can achieve pretty much the same result using Jason Potash’s free Orwell software and an html template.

Needless to say, I haven’t made much money from the site. I tried some Adwords arbitrage and was making about $5 profit a day from Adsense, but that only lasted for about 3 weeks before Google caught on. I’m going to rework the site and add my own articles as well as some affiliate products.

The funny thing is that my most profitable site, which generates about $700 a month in affiliate sales and Adsense is one built from your April 2005 niche blueprint on xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I spent a lot of time writing and submitting articles to EzineArticles.com as well as link building. The site now ranks in the top 10 of Google for many of my keywords.

Of course, this took about a year for everything to fall into place, but it was worth the wait.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com

It looks like the answer to online success has been staring me in the face for over a year! I regret that I allowed myself to get distracted by all of the latest make money online offers. My approach now is to replicate what worked with my first site using your ideas and methods.

As always, thanks again for everything you do for aspiring Internet Marketers!

Best regards,

Rich ”
/////// End of email ////////

This email highlights the points I have been trying to get across for a very long time, and is backed up by the data I supplied you with last week relating to my own test sites built with “fr.ee articles”.

I think Rich has learnt a lot of lessons in the last year or so:

1. don’t take short-cuts
2. Build quality
3. Even a quality site takes work to get it ranking well. Off-page factors don’t build themselves.

I’d like to say congratulations Rich. You have tried some things that didn’t quite work out, but kept trying until you found what worked. You were then clever enough to know that if you stop buying into every new report or tool that comes out, and just concentrate on what works, you’ll get to your goals much quicker, and even be able to set your goals much higher.

I think emails like this can be an inspiration to everyone, which is why I posted the entire email.

On my SEO Website Builder User forum, a recent thread has been discussing something similar. One guy has posted some figures relating to his own successes and “failures”. I haven’t asked his permission to republish his data in my newsletter, so I’ll just give you the gist of what he said.

This guy has built quite a lot of sites using a variety of techniques. Some use PLR articles from membership sites and are built with auto site generators. Some of his sites are hand-built using my monthly Niche Blueprints and unique content that he writes himself, or commissions from his trusted authors.

His results were as follows:

Sites built with PLR content were more difficult to make m0ney from. After work, he has perfected a technique that allows him to make between an average of between $1.38 and $1.68 per site, per day.

Sites built by hand using quality content are making him between $5 – $15 a day, with much less effort.

Imagine how much those quality sites could make him every day if he put the same effort into them as he does for his PLR generated sites?

If you own SEO Website Builder, you might like to check out the post in the Success Forum. It’s title is ” full time income?? “. This guy explains his strategy in more detail, and describes his goals for the future.

3. My “fool-proof” method of creating quality content.
—————————————————

Last week I mentioned that I had my own “fool proof” method of creating quality content. A number of you wrote to me asking if I would share my strategy. Well, over the last few weeks I have been writing these strategies up as a home study course, and will even be including some of the tools I use to create content. Rather than go into details here, I have setup a priority opt-in list where I’ll keep people updated on this product, including more details of what it contains, and release date and price.

If you are interested, you can sign up for it here.

The list is a double opt-in, so when you enter your details and click submit, check your email. You will need to verify your subscription by clicking on a link in the email I’ll send you.

4. Brad & Andy videos
—————————————————

Brad Fallon is an old friend of mine who has had amazing successes online. Many of you have probably heard of him because of his hugely successful “Stomping the Search Engines” course that he released some time ago with his partner Andy Jenkins.

These guys have an incredible record of getting new sites up and running in no time at all. And when I say running, I really do mean running. How about zero to $10,000+ a day in less than 3 months? How about another site that went from zero to $16,000 a day (half a million dollars in sales every month)? You can watch their video here, and they even show you the sites.

This video has been doing the rounds this week, and gave Brad & Andy a lot of feedback and questions. They have since released a 24 page Report that answers a lot of questions that people have asked. I think you get a chance to download the report at the end of the video, but I am not sure. Just in case, you can download this report here.

In the Internet Marketing world, Brad & Andy are the top carnivores, so I recommend you watch the video, and read their report. They will probably give you even more great reports in the next couple of weeks.
