EzSEO Newsletter # 199

This week:

1. How I re-write PLR Content and why

2. Charles Heflin Web 2.0 Update

3. Tube Mogul

4. Google Hot Trends

5. Some Cool CSS resources

6. Wordtracker Special Offers

Hi again

I hope you have had a good week. I met up with an old “school” friend this week, Rob. In fact, we were teachers at the same school over here in Tenerife where I helped him teach the I.T. “A” level course (I also taught “A” level Biology, and General Science). He is still working at the same school, and made a joke of showing me his briefcase and commenting on the fact that I wouldn't have seen on for quite some time. He was of course correct, I hadn't seen one for a long time (and I haven't worn a tie for a very long time either), but even when I was a teacher, I used a rucksack instead of a briefcase – so looked more like a mature student :O)

Rob then started talking about his holidays and I thought it was quite ironic, that despite the fact I work from home and probably a lot of people envy my lifestyle, I have not had a work-free holiday since I started in this business. Every time I go away, I pack a laptop. If I have an Internet connection where I am staying, I always login to do support. You see, unlike other product authors, I do not outsource my support. I do it all myself as well as all the programming, site building etc.

However, even though this is a big downside since it basically takes away a level of freedom, I wouldn't swap it for any other job. I enjoy what I do.

OK, enough rambling, let's get on with the newsletter. I've got some great f.ree resources, as well as a special offer for anyone wanting to join Charles Heflin's Web 2.0 group, but missed the chea.p.er subscription rate. However, the offer I have for you is only valid for 48 hours.

1. How I re-write PLR Content and why
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

I am always getting questions about PLR content, things like:

“Do you use PLR content on your sites?”
“Can PLR content rank well in the search engines?”
“Is XXXXXXX worth joining?”
“Is it sufficient to add a paragraph to the start and end of the article before publishing on your site?”
etc, etc…

This week, I decide to write a fr.ee report that I could give away in my newsletter to answer some of these PLR content questions. In this report, I outline why I re-write PLR content, and how. It may come as a big surprise to many people that I go to such lengths, but I really believe that 99% of the ways PLR content is used by most people is a waste of time.

You can download the report here:

How to Re-Write PLR Content

The report covers issues such as:

* The problem with PLR Content
* How NOT to re-write PLR Content
* The difference between content written by PLR content authors and content written by expert authors.
* How to re-write PLR Content so you look like an expert author.

The above report is the second fr.eebie report I have written on using PLR content. The first one I released several months ago was called “Top Tips for Using PLR Content”, and if you missed that one, you can download it here:

2. Charles Heflin Web 2.0 Update
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Last week I wrote to you about a new and very exciting Web 2.0 “workgroup” created by Charles Heflin (the guy who created the “Master Plan”, and the leading authority on Silo site structure).

I'll tell you a little bit about what has been happening in the last week inside his Web 2.0 laboratory in a minute.

Firstly, if you missed last week's issue, you might like to re-read it, and definitely get a hold of the fr.ee report Charles created explaining how YOU can dominate using Web 2.0 strategies. You can get the report here.

The report has a link to sign up for his mentorship program, but currently that costs $120 per month. I had a chat with Charles and he agreed to lower that fee for my subscribers, but only for the next 48 hours. I'll tell you how much and where to go in a minute. First I wanted to bring you up to speed on what goes on inside this closed site.

If you have read the report above, you may well be confused by it all. So was I the first time I read it. There is just so much to take in. Fortunately the membership site takes things one step at a time, and teaches you how to use the “Grid”, and setup a Blueprint for the Web 2.0 domination of your niche. Videos take you step by step through the process.

The idea behind the membership site was to teach people how to use Web 2.0 strategies to dominate a niche. Not only are you taught how to create a unique Blueprint for your niche, which you can follow to dominate your niche, but the membership program is also a working laboratory.

The entire site is a work in progress, with new updates coming in almost daily at the moment. This is going to grow into the most comprehensive resource on Web 2.0 anywhere.

e.g. There is a section in the site called “Specific Expert Strategies”. This section includes strategies that are proven to work. Without giving too much away, Charles and his team will show you only those strategies that have worked, and how to replicate them for your own success.

Another section of the site is the “Case Studies” section. These are the working “labs” if you like. Real work in progress, that include the actual Blueprints for the case study, so you can replicate the exact strategy being used.

e.g. there is a case study called “Search engine ranking improvement through link building in social networks”. In this case study they want to boost the rankings of a web page on one of their sites using Web 2.0 strategies, and they show you how they go about it, step by step.

A new case study that is just starting is called “The Social Network Super Spindle Study”. Again, without going into any depth, here is a brief overview of what this case study wants to achieve:

“This is a simple yet extremely powerful strategy to exploit the power of chained Web 2.0 properties. You're gonna link social networks together in order of their authority and PR to form a funnel shaped structure.. ..which you will then plug into your site”.

Exciting stuff, and I cannot wait to see how this one develops.

Other case studies are being planned, and executed by members of the site. eg Paul's case study sounds ambitious:

“My goal for this case study is in 3-6 months create 20 affiliate sites that generate an average of $20/day.”

Another member case study is Dave's:

“Dave, a fellow member is going to run a case study on owning more real estate under the search engine results in Google for specific keywords.

He will be doing some work to take over as much of the top 30 – 50 results that come up for specific keyword terms like xxxx and xxxx.

As you can see, this is a serious group of people, carrying out some serious case studies.

One of the other exciting developments by Charles and his team is the software they are developing.

They are “working on an industry shifting piece of software that will only be available to members that will highly automate the long, boring and mundane tasks involved with social marketing. There is no other software on the market that compares to this because nobody else has broken down the social networks into categories of action based on specific business models. This software will not be available for a few months but by joining as a member now, you will not experience a price increase when the software releases and you will be allowed to beta test, comment and help us build this tool to meet with our specific needs.

When this software is released, I fully expect new members are going to have to pay several hundred dollars a month to join.

There are lots of exciting things going on, and I really believe that the cost of joining this elite group will pay for itself many times over. After all, those who join will become experts in Web 2.0 strategies, and Web 2.0 experts are going to become the next wave of Internet millionaires.

OK, if you are still reading this, the best bit is yet to come. I told you I had chatted with Charles and arranged a special discount for my subscribers. However, Charles was only prepared to do this for the next 48 hours (offer closes sometime on Tuesday 8th April).

Instead of paying the current subscription fee of $120 per month, if you join using the link below, you pay just $80 per month.

Remember though that this offer is only for 48 hours, and then the price will be back up to $120. I highly recommend you download Charles' report, and read it. Get the report here.

Decide if you want to join this elite group of marketers, and if so, get in quick. To get the discount, you need to join using the following link, before Tuesday 8th.

3. Tube Mogul
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

I have well and truly jumped on the Web 2.0 bandwagon in all of its forms. One part of that bandwagon is creating and distributing videos. The big hassle of distributing the same video to different video sites is the fact that you have to login to each one separately.

Well, Tube Mogul is a fr.ee service that will submit your videos to a bunch of video sites. You can read about their service here.

Basically, you can upload your videos ONCE, and Tube Mogul will then upload that video to lots of video sites for you. No more multiple logins and uploads. Tube Mogul also tracks those videos, giving you vital statistics on what is being watched, and what isn't. Very cool. If you are creating videos to promote your sites, Tube Mogul should be one of your bookmarks.

4. Google Hot Trends
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

If you go to this page, you'll see what Google considers to be “hot”.

However, Google trends is a great tool to see seasonal and annual variation in a niche.

e.g. type in BBQ and see how the niche spikes in the summer months. No surprise there. However, if you are lucky, you can find niches that are “growing”, year after year.

e.g. type in “colon cleanse”. Do you see how the graph suggests that this niche is growing, year after year?

Using Google trends can help identify growth markets, ready for the picking by hard working Internet marketers.

5. Some Cool CSS resources
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

I love using CSS in my own websites. It just makes things so much easier, and less cluttered. One subscriber wrote in with a few great CSS resources. I have included his complete email below so you can check them out yourself if you are a CSS junkie like me.

“Greetings Andy,

I came across three valuable sites your subscribers and customers and I wanted to share.

First for your CSS tutorial, a well done CSS Cheat Sheet:

Next is a free CSS template site:
(Reminds me: suggestion for a newsletter series: How to customize/use such templates with WSB. List of all tokens and which tokens for which pages?)

Last, is an article from Apple titled “Web Page Development: Best Practices”
“This article gives some practical hints on how to create standards-conforming websites, and to work around some of issues that will arise for Explorer for Windows.” (Noteable CSS issues)

– Mark”.

Thanks Mark. Those sites have some great information.

If YOU know of any good Fr.ee resources that you think other subscribers would be interested in, let me know!

6. Wordtracker Special Offers
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Someone wrote to me the other day saying that they wanted to buy Wordtracker through my affiliate link as a way of saying thanks, but another marketer was offering some discounts, and could I match them?

Well, I didn't know such discounts existed, but I went looking anyway, and found this:

Wordtracker Discount/Coupon

These offers change all the time, but they usually have something good. e.g. currently you can get an extra month fr.ee when you subscribe for one month. Or, get 2 months extra when you grab an annual subscription.

Check the above webpage periodically to see if there is anything you are interested in.

Well, that's it for this issue. If you want to read the recent issues of this newsletter, you can read them online at my blog:
