Best Sites to Promote your Kindle Books 14

This is a list of websites where you can promote your Kindle book during it’s free KDP Select promo days.

Sites to Inform Ahead of time

Let these sites now the dates of your free promotion at least 2 days in advance, preferably longer.

A lot of sites have changed the way they handle free promotions.  One site that is still offering to promote books that are free is Author Marketing Club.  You need to sign up for an account, but it is free.  Once you are a member, you can promote your free books.  This should be the first stop for everyone wanting to get the word out about their book.

The other main sites worth submitting to a week or so before it goes on free

1. Pixel of Ink

Head on over to the Author’s Corner at Pixel of Ink.  From there you can let them know when your book will be free.  They’ve also got tips on maximizing your promo days.

2. Indie Book of the Day

Read the instructions and submit your book here at least 2 days in advance.

3. Free Book Club

Read submissions guidelines and submit here.

4. eBooks Habit

Submit your book here.

5. Good Kindles

This one requires a “donation” to submit your book.  Current minimum donation is $7.  See details here.

6. Books Butterfly

Free and paid book promotions.  See details here.

While your Book is Free

These sites can only be notified during the free promo itself.  Therefore let them know on the first day as soon as your book is listed in Amazon for $0.00.

1. Snickslist

Place your ad here.

Kindle Author Forums

The Kindle Boards Forum

Kindle Boards is a forum that all Kindle authors should join and participate in.  There is so much help and advice there.  The Book Bazaar section of the forum also allows you to post announcements of your free book promos.  However, do read the section on Forum decorum to avoid getting into trouble when promoting your own books.

Is this a new site? Yours? Or have you used it and found it beneficial? Reason I ask is that the site has a Google Page Rank of 0, and I am trying to include sites that I have either tried or look authoritative.

Andy, yes, this is my site and it is new relatively to others in your list.
I am actively working on promoting it on Facebook and with SEO so it can become even better very soon! 🙂

    Hi Andy,

Thanks for the listing. I’m a bit fuzzy on this regarding: If an ebook is on Amazon currently then can the same ebook be submitted to the various resouces you’ve listed.?

    Thanks muchly.

You are not submitting the book to them, just letting them know that your book is available on Amazon. We use these sites to make people aware that our book is on a free promo, so get more downloads.

Andy – Thank you very much for this list.. My book had slipped to 99 of top 100 in my garden & Horticulture>Herbs niche. I scheduled two free days 3/8 and 3/9. Then posted the info to the sites you suggested except for the one paid one and the one that needed an account. The result was some 650 downloads to date. My book has moved from 99 to #1 in the top 100 free and moved over 250,000 serps in the overall kindle store to #328 over all.

The Snickslist also runs a couple of other sites where you can get a months promotion for $8 to 47 major social sites and to the search engines. After my book goes back to paid I will use that feature.

Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful list.

    Best to you,
    John B. Green

    Hi Andy,
thanks for your tips. I have a free book and a 99c promo in July, so your list very timely. Author Marketing Club has a list that is worth checking out.

Thanks for this list Andy. I used all of them including most of the names on the Author Marketing Club list and have had 2,370 downloads as of day 4 of my 5 day free promotion. A fabulous resource as I didn’t have a clue how to promote my eBook before I read your Kindle Publishing book.

    Thanks again!

Hi Andy, thanks for this list, I read your Kindle publishing book every time I am about to publish a new one. Last time, I didn’t check this list, I am glad I have this time, this will really help me get more downloads when I offer my book for the 5 days for free and I hope more reviews than the last time I did the free offer.
