First I would like to welcome the new subscribers to the ezSEO Newsletter. We are in the middle of a series of articles that will build up into a comprehensive SEO course. This is the 8th installment. If you have missed any, you can read the archived versions online at:
Last week we finished off with a puzzle.
"Web page A has one incoming link from a PR 5 page. Web page B has one incoming link from a PR 4 page"
"Which web page has the higher PR, web page A or web page B?"
Today we will go on to look at why we do not have enough information to answer this question. Yes it is entirely possible that web page B will have the higher PR. Read on to see why. This knowledge will make all the difference to your own link exchange campaigns as well as help you get the most out of your own internal linking.
Before we begin, I would like to mention an opportunity that I think might be of interest to the webmasters out there reading this. Several months ago I bought into a software partnership. Whenever possible, set up a new e-mail address when subscribing to a newsletter. e.g. ezSEOnewsletter@yahoo.com. This prevents your main e-mail address being used for spamming by unscrupulous companies who may sell their mailing list addresses to spammers. It also makes it quick and pain free to unsubscribe, should your attempts to unsubscribe fail. Just delete the e-mail address. |
