Review - Revenge of the Mininet by Michael Campbell

OK, I am sure you have read or heard about Michael Campbell's Revenge of the Mininet already. Are mininets hype or are they for real? Keep reading to find out. Before we get on, Michael Campbell has recently increased the price of this eBook to $79. Revenge of the mininets is a short eBook of around 50 pages. Those pages are split into two sections:

Revenge of the mininet Section 1 - 21 pages

This is the meat of the eBook on building mininets to capture huge amounts of free search engine traffic. Revenge of the mininets is about building mini-sites (for information on building mini-sites, I would recommend learning from the Master of the mini site - Phil Wiley) and linking them together so that they do two things:

1. Fly under the search engine spam radar - Michael provides tips on how to prevent search engines putting two and two together and finding our that all the mini-sites are your own. If they know that, they are probably not going to ban you, just not put so much weight on the incoming links - which is what gives you link popularity.
2. Create relevant link popularity to give a huge boost in search engine rankings - when you own all of the sites, YOU can decide what link text to use and how to optimize the pages so that they will give your pages a huge boost in the search engine thereby generating a lot of free traffic.

The linking strategies described throughout Revenge of the Mininets are given colourful names depending on what a sketch of the linking strategy looks like - names such as Butterfly & Angel. Each strategy designed to create the same thing - lots of free search engine traffic.

When I read this section of the book, I was a little disappointed. However, I was disappointed because I am use to Michael Campbell's entertaining narrative as found in Nothing But Net and Clickin it Rich. Revenge of the mininets "section 1") contains just the facts and no entertaining "padding"..... Where is excels though is in the diagrams. These clear and concise diagrams allow anyone to copy these strategies on their own sites to generate huge amount of free search engine traffic.

If you want to get the facts and generate lots of free traffic, this really is an outstanding resource.

Revenge of the mininet Section 2 - 29 pages

This section of Revenge of the mininet is a Michael Campbell interview by Brian Maroevich - president of Avalanche Response Marketing Systems and LeadStampede.com. While this section of the book is an entertaining read, it does not offer any additional advise about linking strategies (that is why you want to buy the book isn't it?). However, there are one or two great tips like how to use the spam that arrives in your e-mail inbox to your advantage and profit from it. For those who have read some of Michael's other stuff, I doubt you will get too much out of this interview.

OK, so overall I was a little disappointed that the Revenge of the Mininet section was a little short. However, what a superb resource for generating free search engine traffic! I can tell you that this technique does work. Just follow the diagrams in the book and you could get a lot of free traffic. If you work by promoting affiliate programs, then that traffic could equate to a massive return in sales. So the fact that it only took 30 minutes to read is irrelevant. The information is worth its weight in gold.

Wait, there is another good reason to buy this book

As if the above plus the original bonuses was not enough, Michael has included a new bonus. This bonus is so important (in my view and obviously in Michael's as he put his price up after adding it) that it is worth the price of Revenge of the Mininet just for this one bonus. I know you have heard that line before, but I really mean it.

Dynamic Linking ebook, by Leslie Rohde is a corker. This book describes how best to link your sites pages for maximum benefit. If you work on minisites or large datafeed sites, this information will blow you away (and your competition in the search engines). Leslie gives actual examples and numbers when describing linking strategies (found in Revenge of the Mininet) to show how PR is passed around and how to funnel it to your important pages. This tells you why mininets work as well as how to (and not to) link your own pages/sites together. I don't want to say too much here - buy Revenge of the Mininet and read it for yourself. Leslie Rohde is a self-confessed nerd - he knows his stuff.
