No Kindle? No Problem!

As you may know, I have been releasing a few Kindle books to diversify my income.

You can find all of my webmaster books here.

You can see a full list on my Author Central Profile.

I have had a number of emails from people telling me that they did not have a Kindle, but wanted to read my books.

The bad news is that I am only releasing them on Kindle for the time being.

The Good news is that you don’t need to own a Kindle to read this or any other Kindle eBook.

I’ve recorded a short video to explain how you can read ANY Kindle book on a PC, Mac, Tablet or Smartphone.

How to read Kindle books on your computer (PC or Mac)

So, there is no excuse.

  1. Hey Andy thanks for this. I don’t have a kindle and there is so much stuff that I would like to read like….. your SEO kindle book! I’ll download software and read and then review.

  2. Hi Dr Andy

I’ve downloaded your book directly to Kindle. look forward to reading it 😉

On my notebook i have the handy Kindle Previewer software.

I like this SW because when i created my first publication for Kindle (just a short guide), it was easy to review progress as i formatted the pages. There’s also the option to view the book how it would look in other devices:

    Kindle Fire
    Kindle Touch
    Kindle
    Kindle DX
    Kindle for iPhone
    Kindle for iPad

So this option is great for those who want to create and view their Kindle publication on a computer as they go along, but i think the Kindle for PC SW is perhaps a better option for full screen viewing should anyone want to read a kindle book on their device.

  3. Hi Dr. Andy,

Read your SEO book immediately after downloading it on my PC yesterday.

I give it 5 stars for helping us navigate the current and future Panda and Penguin changes.

I recommend it to webmasters and SEO service providers.

  4. Dr. Andy,

Amazon makes it difficult in countries where they don’t sell Kindle to even download the Kindle software. You can’t download it at all unless you use a proxy surfer to pretend you’re from a country where they sell Kindle.

Even after you’ve managed to download and install the Kindle software, you have to make sure you change the country (together with new “address”) of your Amazon account to be able to get hold of the free Kindle book.

    Just so you know.

  5. Andy . . . DUDE!

How could you! I’ve never seen a formally published book in any medium which contained so many dreadful spelling and grammatical errors.

If it had cost me coin of the realm, I would have vomited.

    Cheers

    John

    1. John….DUDE!
Perhaps your could send me a few of those errors so I can fix them. A few other people have sent in a core set of 3 or 4 errors that were fixed in the version 1.1. update yesterday.

      1. Mate I’m a bit under the hammer to do a full subedit, but one thing you should take care of is decide whether Google is an “it” or a “them/they” and stick to the one thing throughout. From memory your use of “setup” instead of “set up” happened more than once as well

But hey . . . for all that, the content itself is mighty!

        1. Hi John
I wasn’t expecting a complete edit. Your comments here are more than helpful to help me find the problems. As for “setup” v “set up”, I guess coming from a computer background, everything becomes “setup”.

Andy, download and shared the book. Can't wait to read it.

    1. Do you mean all the images in the book? What are you reading it on?
On my Android tablet & PC with Kindle software they look fine. I actually cannot increase their resolution by much or the file would be too big – there are close to 300 screenshots in there and it’s already 5MB.

        1. Hmmm. It looks fine on my computer. It is also the same resolution that Amazon recommend. What looks pixely? The text? All of it? I realize the smaller text (and my name) look a little pixelated, but that is to do with how Amazon render the image. Maybe I could try a few different fonts to see which works best. It just takes several hours before you can see a new uploaded book cover so it would be a slow job.

          1. Andy, he meant the photo of yourself looks pixelated. If I preview your kindle books its in the first few pages.
It appears to be the same photo of you that appears on this site.

  7. Just wanted to say I think this is a truly excellent e-book (and please disregard the grammar nitpickers!). I’m reading it on Kindle for PC and the images look great. In fact, while I do have a Kindle, I prefer to read this type of e-book on my PC, as the images are easier to see and in colour. My Kindle Keyboard is great for reading novels, but not so good for illustrated nonfiction books.

Thanks again for making this title free to your subscribers for a limited period. I hope it sells well once the promotional period is ended!

    1. iPads repeatedly kicked off your site. i cannot open anything. Have you encountered this?
    2. Purchased SEO 2013 on Amazon. Amazon records shown 2013 version purchased. However, download is the 2012 version. Purchase was on 12/4. Could you bullet point differences?
    3. Site and book (Still working Beginners) are great
    4. If you have ad problems with 1+1 (or any given provider), why remain there?
    thanks
    Saunders

    1. 1. My iPad doesn’t. What browser are you using on it?
      2. They are identical. The only thing that has changed is the name so people don’t think it’s out of date.
      3. THanks.
      4. I don’t have problems with 1&1 and noone else has reported any kind of problem with iPads. Mine works fine. Perhaps you can tell me specifically a page that causes you problems and also what browser you are using on your iPad.

  9. “This title is not available for customers from your location”
    🙁

  10. Hi Andy,

I am not having any luck in downloading your book; Amazon keeps on telling me that it is only for customers in the US or UK.

I am living in Spain, so Amazon keeps on pushing me to the .es url. Is there any other way for me to get it?

  11. Hello Andy

Just downloaded Amazon Kindle for PC. I had no problem, really easy. Have icon on my desktop and you can click on it instantly to get instant access from library. Very cool. Have not had time to read it yet because I am in the process of writing and working on my first book. It is in the health and wellness niche and am very excited about possibilities. I started on a wellness program in 2004 and have been healthy ever since. I am going to write a book documenting what I have done since 2004 to stay healthy. Excited about possibilities and I hope that your book ‘Kindle Publishing’ will help get the book off the ground. After reading the book I will write a review. And once again love your newsletters. Only newsletter that is 100% pure content. Thanks again.

  12. Super checklist Andy. I’ve got some action points already and I’m only half way through. As above – please ignore spelling Nazis.

RecentIy I was pulled up by a Texan for writing “Optimisation” and not “optimization”.

    🙂

    Alex

  13. Hi Andy,
browsed through the book. I will start applying the information you provided to my website soon. I gave you 5 stars on the book as it is just packed with very useful information.

  14. Thank you so much for all your help. This time I was not able to download “Migrating to Windows 8 – For
computer users without a touch screen, coming from XP, Vista or
Windows 7” I have the order number but did not find the product.

  15. Hi Andy,
When are you going to go with Apple Mac? OK, only joking, I know you love PCs. 🙂 Martin

  16. Hi Andy,
Here’s an alternative to Amazon software,,
    & of course it’s FREE!
    It’s called calibre.
    Can be downloaded directly from here;
    http://calibre-ebook.com/
    Available for windows (32 & 64bit) Mac, & Linux

It’s a truely great ebook management/ viewer /editor tool, and it’s regularly updated.
Hope this might benefit your readers.
    All the best Andy,
& keep up the great inspiring work!

    Hey bro,

I’m about to dive into this right now and I know it’s going to be good because I’ve always seen you put out good stuff.

Right back to the days of Neil Shearing’s auto income secrets you recommended as well as the software you had that went out and searched the top 10 listings for keyword info. (I still wish I could find that software now as I lost my user and pass and download).

But some people who nitpick over the small details like that usually don’t wind up doing anything with the info anyway.

People fail to see the how to is greater than the way to ‘say it’ in a lot of cases.

If this gives a step by step to get results, then that’s all that should matter and people should just take action.

    Just thought I’d chime in.

(P.S. If you could tell me how to access that software again, I’d appreciate it.)
