WordPress 5.9 introduces Full Site Editing, and a lot of people are worried about updating an existing site to 5.9. Will it cause problems on an existing site?
If you are just learning WordPress, should you start with Full Site Editing?
This video tries to answer those questions.
If you have questions, please leave them below and I'll do my best to answer these.

Thanks for the heads-up on 5.9.
I learned WordPress using your course and it was very helpful. But early on I moved away from the wordpress editor to Elementor and then Elementor Pro.
I have sites running with “Ocean WP” and “Hello” themes. Do you think I will have a problem with the update to WordPress?
No.
Hi Andy, thanks for the advice on this. I am still learning WordPress so would probably have had a panic attack if I loaded a full-site editing theme and saw only the Editing menu! As per your advice, I am now aware of this and this will avoid using a full site editing theme for the time being.
Many thanks for taking the time to advise this.
You’re welcome Eddie.
I will come out with more stuff on FSE for those that want to learn.
Hello Andy,
Thanks for the insight in to the soon to come WP 5.9 I built our own website using your courses and couldn’t have done it without you. You’ve been largely instrumental in my learning, and I thank you for that. There is a lot going on in the background of our site that we haven’t made visible to the public yet. The latest being “Plant Profiles” that we set up using your guidance using “Custom Fields” and “Custom Post Types” in your “Learn Elementor” course. Works like a dream.
Keep up the good work and always look forward to your new courses.

Thanks for sharing Grahame. Always nice to know a course has helped someone out.
Good stuff. Thanks for the update. I have taken a couple of your courses. Very impressed! Just waiting for a Elementor / WooCommerce course! I’m modifying an existing site that has neither!
Thanks!
Rick
Hi Andy. I have undertaken several of your courses, which have been vital to my (simple) understanding of WP, SEO etc. So, many thanks for these great courses, and the way that you have made the content suitable to someone like myself who has had no experience for setting up and running a website. I now have a site that is up and running!.I have downloaded your recent WP FullSite Editing with Gutenberg (whilst on offer!) in anticipation of updating to 5.9.1. However, my site wont update. I get messages such as: “Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-matchesmapregex.php” or “Could not copy file.: wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-matchesmapregex.php” – it seems to change each time. My inclination is just to wait and see what happens, but would welcome any comments that you may have. Thanks again, Paul
I would disable all plugins and try the update. Plugins can cause issues, and it may be a memory problem so slimming down what loads might help.
